THE TUFFest 48-HOUR FILM FESTIVAL

October 9–11, 2026

48 hours. One assignment. Make a movie. Try not to panic.

The TUFFest 48-Hour Film Festival is back!

Grab your cameras, gather your most talented friends, your least talented friends, that one person who owns a fog machine, and anyone willing to stay awake way too late. You have exactly 48 hours to make a movie from scratch.

It all begins Friday, October 9 at 6:00 PM.

That’s when each team will receive its official film assignment, including a genre and a handful of required elements, which could include things your characters have to say, do, use, encounter, wear, eat, destroy, run from, scream at, or otherwise somehow work into your movie.

Then the clock starts.

You have until 6:00 PM Sunday, October 11 to write it, cast it, shoot it, edit it, finish it, question every decision you’ve made, export it, and get it turned in.

THREE CATEGORIES. MANY WAYS TO WIN.

Films will compete based on their final running time:

1 Minute or Less
60 seconds. That’s it. Get in, tell your story, get out.

1:01–2 Minutes
More breathing room. Not much, but some.

2:01–3 Minutes
Look at you with your sprawling three-minute epic.

The winning film in each category receives $100!

But we’re not stopping there.

There will also be $50 awards for:

Best Actor
Give us a performance worthy of 48 hours of sleep deprivation.

Best Villain / Monster / Creature / Maniac / Thing That Probably Shouldn’t Be in the Basement
Human, supernatural, extraterrestrial, undead, cryptid, masked lunatic, possessed household appliance… surprise us.

Best Overall Film
The big one. The film that brings everything together and becomes the audience favorite of the entire competition.

THE AUDIENCE PICKS THE WINNERS

No mysterious panel of judges hiding in a back room.

The films will screen during Day Two of The TUFFest on Saturday, October 17 at Cabin Boys Brewery, and the audience decides who wins.

So bring your friends.

Bring your family.

Bring your coworkers.

Bring that cousin you only talk to when you need something.

Because when voting starts, you’re going to want some people in your corner.

Admission to the screening is FREE.

WHO CAN ENTER?

Pretty much anybody.

Teams are $50 each, and there is no limit on team size. Your team can be one person with a camera and questionable judgment or 40 people with walkie-talkies and matching shirts.

There is also no restriction on where your team is located.

Tulsa? Great.

Oklahoma City? Great.

Somewhere on the other side of the country? Also great.

You do not have to be present at the October 17 screening to win.

But seriously…

Why wouldn’t you want to be there?

Your movie will be playing at The TUFFest. There will be filmmakers, an audience, beer, awards, and the possibility of watching something you made in 48 ridiculous hours win actual money.

READY?

Registration is $50 per team.

There is no limit to the number of teams, but registering now means one very important thing:

You’ve officially committed yourself to making a movie in 48 hours.

Which means you can’t chicken out later.

October 9–11.

48 hours.

Three minutes maximum.

One movie.

No excuses.

REGISTER TODAY AND RESERVE YOUR SPOT.

Then start assembling your team.

You’re going to need them.
