Director Bill Doty Discusses STRAWBERRY COLOR GLASSES

There are certain moments in filmmaking where it hits you… this is something special. Getting the chance to talk about our documentary Strawberry Colored Glasses on FOX23 News was one of those moments.

We were recently featured in a story highlighting the film and the incredible life of Muriel Fahrion, the artist behind Strawberry Shortcake and a key creative force behind the Care Bears. The piece dives into what drew us to her story and why this film matters, not just as nostalgia, but as something much deeper. As director, Bill Doty shared what’s been at the core of this project from the beginning. This isn’t just a documentary about iconic characters. It’s about the person who created them, often without the recognition she deserved, and the generations of people who were shaped by her work. It’s about creativity, legacy, and the idea that it’s never too late to be seen.

The film itself is a heart-forward look at Muriel’s life, blending her personal journey with the emotional connection fans have carried with them for decades. Through interviews, archival moments, and real interactions between Muriel and the people she inspired, Strawberry Colored Glasses aims to show how one artist’s imagination quietly became part of millions of lives. For us, this project has been equal parts humbling and exciting. Every step of the way, it keeps reminding us that this story is bigger than we are. It’s about art that lasts. It’s about rediscovery. And it’s about giving credit where it’s long overdue.

We’re incredibly excited about where the film is headed and even more excited to share it with the world soon. This is one of those projects that sticks with you… and we can’t wait for you to see it.
