There’s something pretty incredible happening right now in Tulsa’s film scene, and we’re proud to be right in the middle of it.
Tulsa Underground Film Festival is officially returning for its third season, and PowDot Studios couldn’t be more excited to continue building what has quickly become one of the most unique and filmmaker-friendly festivals around. According to the coverage, submissions open April 1, inviting filmmakers from Tulsa and beyond to bring their boldest, weirdest, most creative work to the screen. TUFFest has always been about celebrating the kind of films that don’t always have a home elsewhere. The experimental, the gritty, the low-budget, the passion projects. The stuff filmmakers need to make.
From the beginning, our goal at PowDot Studios has been simple. Create a space where filmmakers feel seen. Not judged by budget, not boxed in by genre, but celebrated for taking a swing.
And that’s exactly what this festival has become.
What started as an idea has grown into a real community. Filmmakers showing up, connecting, collaborating, and proving that you don’t need millions of dollars to make something meaningful. You just need the drive to do it.
Season three feels different in the best way. Bigger. More attention. More filmmakers finding their way to Tulsa. And yet, it still holds onto that underground spirit that made it special in the first place.
We’re incredibly proud to continue hosting TUFFest and to keep pushing forward what Tulsa is becoming… a place where independent film doesn’t just exist, it thrives.
If you’ve got something to say, something weird, something bold… this is your festival.
